Jim Coons, owner of Coons Construction, started construction in 1983 while still in high school, working during the summers and breaks for a high quality local construction firm. There he found that he enjoyed the building experience so much that he decided to go out on his own in 1987.  Since then Coons Construction has worked on many of Madison's finest homes, providing the carpentry crews for the framing, exterior details and finish carpentry.  Jim prides himself on using the most experienced local craftsmen and ensures consistent quality and standards by being hands on and enforcing quality control onsite. His many years of experience have been spent doing homes in Blackhawk, Seminole Highlands, Bishops Bay and along the lakes of Madison, in addition to many rural estates.

"I have been fortunate to have been able to learn from some of the area's best builders and have developed relationships with owners and subcontractors that I have used my entire career.  I have general contracted over 100 custom homes - most being for owners - the rest have been models.  I grew up in Verona and have family in the area.
